Yes, fine by me.

Do we have anyone with decent design skills?  (count me out)

Could help with charts, and other graphics design. if not we'll have to outsource it, Elance or similar.

sorry to repost from UR

Devils advocate - should we not wait until the hard bits are done and see who is still interested before we go off and spend money on themes?

Just checking out some other options -

http://themeforest.net/item/bracket-responsive-bootstrap-3-admin-template/full_screen_preview/6894362

This one looks good, some real nice sliders etc. loads of buttons and some awesome graphs too.

I don't think there is much need to hold off on this part at least - even if we dont use the whole template, it will save a lot of time writing the individual elements - it also helps in terms of designing the rest of the look of the "product", at the moment we have nothing to visualize at all.

I am still unclear as to what the webUI is going to be doing and where it is going to live?

Are we talking about the web page on a remote server that allows us to view data from our RPI and control it from there? or are we talking abut an embedded web server running on the RPI?

My understanding of the web UI is a central location that allows you to view your stats, basically a dashboard of sorts.

Cio will be able to explain it further ;)

I thought this UI was going to be running on the Rpi? and viewable from our ipads/iphones/andriods/pc's macs etc all from our home network by navigating to the webserver running on the Rpi.

Can we hold off on buying anything till we have this worked out?

There are 3 different web sites mentioned so far..
1)  Web server running on RPI that can be accessed on home network. Displays data and allows the user to configure the setup and control devices
2)  This website that contains the forums and code discussion type stuff, trial areas for the project
3)  Central server based webpage with SQL db that allows control of the RPI and data displays. (this can also be achieved using dynamic fns device and is easier to do this way)

Which one are we talking about applying this theme to?

I think initially this theme will just sit locally on the rpi to be used to control the device/program.

Once that is worked out and sorted properly etc. I believe the same theme will be used "online" for users to remotely check in on thir tanks/reefpi.

I think.

cio is probbaly better placed to answer once and for all though!

It will be better if we came with names for these web sites, ReefPi being the product/project name

1. WebUI is what RPi will be running. It's the local user interface, the dashboard, displayed on it's LCD and loaded from the home network.
2. ReefPiNet is our website where this forum stays. Here will have project description, hardware and software documentation and obviously this forum
3. ReefPortal (someone come with a better name) is what will be an extension of the ReefPiNet website used by ReefPi users to push their local data to a central server for outside home network monitoring and control.

Haopy to change their names to make them more obvious.

The theme is about WebUI

can we agree that our primary focus is the webUI and the associated code to run the attached peripherals?

lets get a scope together of what we want the system to do? where is the right place not he forum to put this discussion?
