I am hoping you mean 4 tables not 4 DBS?
Ok so we need to coordinate in db tables. I have deviceType and controllerType with corresponding controller and device tables. We really have to start coordinating on this!

Oops yep I meant tables lol
I think it would make sense if someone took lead in the WebUI, I really do want to be involved in it but not solely reliant in me, I am starting from scratch so it would be good for some experience to be put into the UI

Then i will hook up the few bits i have see if i can talk to them

You don't need to install much at the moment.
Install lighttpd along with PHP5 and MySQL.
You should be able to see a basic web page when browsing localhost.
Perhaps you can write a nice 'how to' aboutinstalling the above?

We use Python for the daemons/applications inside the RPi. Not for web pages. Yet, you need it and the libraries as well. Graeme may write a tutorial about what's required on the Python side?
Those relays will work just fine.
We're looking to find a bit of help with the WebUI so we can move forward the project, Matt becoming busy for the next 2 weeks.

I've got my pi with raspbian installed, it's hooked up to the pca9685 and the rtc
I've also installed Apache on it and php, not sure if this is needed or if it will get in way, but for 30 minutes to reinstall raspbian tried it
I also installed a ssh program on to it so I can connect with putty

No problem on the python tutorial (although (not being pedantic here!) this request should have been posted in a different thread as I almost missed it in here).
I should be setting my RPi this week as got a delivery of bits and pieces. When I do the software install I will document it and give links etc. is it just PHP for the web theme u are using?
As far as the web development goes I could have a go and also try to teach others. Time is limited so not too sure if I would be able to get it all done. I did ask on another thread about asking software developers to get involved and got the feeling people would rather learn than have someone else take over.
I think we possibly jumped the gun on the theme. Adding this complexity this early with a very inexperienced team was too much. We should have started with a blank page and found the easiest way to do what we want.
For now a couple of text boxes and some buttons would get us pretty far. The data can be manually entered (or script in the python) to set the RPi up to do what we want i.e control lights based on time and control a heater based on a value from a sensor. Once we have this running we can add nice shiny bits like sliders and graphs...
The most important thing is that we decided how this thing is going to work at a high level. Are we running scripts? Is there a scheduler? Do probes get polled or do they run independently etc etc etc
